How to find your Steam trade link and add it to DOTAGRADE
3 min read
The Steam trade link (trade URL) is what lets a site or another player send you a trade offer. Here is where to find it on a computer and on a phone, how a correct link looks, and why the site only takes the link of your own account.
1.What is a Steam trade link?
It is a personal address of your Steam account for trade offers. Whoever has it can send you an offer without being on your friends list. It looks like this: https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=123456789&token=AbCdEfGh.
- “partner” is the number of your Steam account.
- “token” is a secret part: without it, people who are not your friends cannot send you offers.
A trade link cannot take anything from you. It only lets someone propose a trade, and every offer waits until you accept it yourself in Steam.
2.Where to find the trade link on a computer
- Open Steam (the app or steamcommunity.com in a browser) and sign in.
- Go to Inventory → Trade Offers → “Who can send me Trade Offers?”.
- At the bottom, in “Third-Party Sites”, you will see the Trade URL. Press “Copy”.
The quickest way is a direct address: steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers/privacy — it opens the same page for the account you are signed in with.
3.Where to find the trade link on a phone
In the Steam mobile app or any phone browser, open steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers/privacy while signed in to your account, scroll to “Third-Party Sites” and copy the Trade URL. Make sure the address bar says steamcommunity.com before you sign in anywhere.
4.How to add the trade link on DOTAGRADE
- Sign in on the site through Steam.
- Open “Profile → Settings” and paste the link into the trade link field.
- Save. From now on your withdrawals are sent to this Steam account.
The site accepts only the link of the Steam account you signed in with. A friend’s link, or the link of your second account, is refused: items are delivered only to the owner of the profile. If you get the message that the link belongs to another account, copy it again while signed in to the right Steam account.
5.When should you make a new trade link?
On the same Steam page there is a “Create new URL” button. The old link stops working at once, and offers sent to it fail. Make a new link if the old one ended up somewhere you do not trust, and then save the new one in “Profile → Settings”, or the next withdrawal will not reach you.
6.What else a withdrawal needs besides the link
- The Steam Guard mobile authenticator. Without it Steam holds trades for up to 15 days; see Steam trade hold and trade ban.
- A public inventory with free space: Steam → your profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings → Inventory: Public.
- No trade ban on the account.
The steps of a withdrawal and the statuses are explained in Withdrawing Dota 2 skins to Steam.
7.Is it safe to share the trade link?
Yes, with sites and people you trust: it only lets them send you offers. Your password and Steam Guard codes are a different matter — never give them to anyone. DOTAGRADE signs you in through Steam’s own page and never receives your password. Before accepting any trade offer, check in Steam what you give and what you get.
